With meticulous care to detail and a passion to restore this heritage site into a one of a kind luxury destination, the owners have taken care to research the old style of living and reflect that in the fine details of craftsmanship.

Domes, doors and windows have been restored to their former glory, and a vibrant use of colour throughout the palace rooms brings on a feeling of old world aesthetics.

The murals on the walls have been hand painted by artists from nearby cities; the carving of each and every window and door has taken years to complete; and the coloured glass in all the stone jalis have been painstakingly placed by hand.

In the last stages of completion, Rawla Gogunda is very close to its final destiny as a world class luxury hotel. A true labour of love!

The first stages of the interiors are in process, with specially designed furniture being hand tooled with respect to the existing architecture. These details are being incorporated into the design work in order to harmonize the interiors with their surroundings.

Plans for Expansion

There are many possibilities to increase the number of rooms at Rawla Gogunda. Certain areas of the roof top can be enclosed and easily converted into rooms; the plan above illustrates where thirteen new rooms can easily be added, bringing the total number of rooms to 46; each new room/suite is demonstrated in a different colour, using only the existing building.

There is another 69,246 sq. ft. of open area which can be used to build a new building, increasing considerably the number of rooms depending on the requirement. It is possible to build up to three floors without any building permits.
